I’ve been reviewing different ways to improve machining accuracy and reduce setup inconsistencies in CNC production. One topic that keeps coming up is
jigs and fixtures tooling, especially for shops handling repeat batches or tight tolerances. From what I understand, proper tooling helps with stable workholding, accurate part positioning, and faster cycle times by minimizing manual adjustments.
In theory, this also reduces operator dependency and improves overall process reliability, which is critical as production scales. However, I’m curious how this works in real-world shop environments where part variation and deadlines are constant.
What has your experience been with custom jigs and fixtures tooling in CNC machining? Has it noticeably improved precision, productivity, or cost control compared to more generic setups?
