Building a Marketplace Without Dozens of Payment Integrations

We're building a marketplace where sellers will eventually be from different countries. Right now we're deciding whether to connect payment providers one by one or use something like a payment hub from the start. I found https://performa.com/hub/ while researching. Has anyone here gone this route? Was it worth setting up a centralized payment layer from the beginning, or is it overkill for a growing platform?
